And The 2019 'Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation' Goes To... The Why Not You Foundation!

All of us at the Why Not You Foundation are incredibly grateful for the recent recognition on Advancement Northwest’s (Association of Fundraising Professionals) 30th Anniversary of National Philanthropy Day in Washington State – being named the recipient of 2019’s: ‘Outstanding Philanthropic Foundation’

National Philanthropy Day brings together donors who support the causes that our local and global communities hold dear, fundraisers who connect donors’ passions to nonprofit missions and each of us who believe in the power of philanthropy to make the world a better place. Advancement Northwest carries on a longstanding tradition of honoring philanthropic individuals, companies, foundations, and other organizations leaders in the following categories: corporations, small businesses, foundations, organizations, individuals, families, and youth.

We were proud to share the stage with other award recipients, including:

Molly Moon’s Homemade Ice Cream - Outstanding Philanthropic Small Business

BECU - Outstanding Philanthropic Corporation

Trans Women of Color Solidarity Network (TWOCSN) - Outstanding Philanthropic Organization

Maryanne Tagney & David Jones- Outstanding Philanthropists

Rohan Vaidya - Outstanding Young Philanthropist

And many thanks to the King County Library System Foundation (KCLSF) together with the College Success Foundation, Friends of the Children, and Bellevue LifeSpring who nominated the Why Not You Foundation for Outstanding Philanthropic Organization. Here are a few excerpts from the nomination that touched our hearts and made us very proud of our work:

  • The work and organizations that the WNYF aligns itself with exemplifies its mission.

  • The Why Not You Foundation provides us with an excellent example of servant leadership.

  • The WNYF strives to set children up for success—its mission to provide support for them to follow their dreams and triumph over obstacles that might get in their way.
