ABOUT THE V FOUNDATION
The V Foundation for Cancer Research was founded in 1993 by legendary basketball coach, Jim Valvano, and ESPN. The goal? Victory Over Cancer®.
Since its formation, the V Foundation has awarded over $310 million in research grants – 1,186 grants in total - which have been used to fund all cancer types at the 71 NCI designated cancer centers in the United States and other exceptional institutions. The Foundation awards competitive grants through a process vetted by its Scientific Advisory Committee – comprised of the nation’s top doctors and scientists. This group helps the V Foundation for Cancer Research remain selective, forward thinking, and determined in how more research can be funded. 100% of direct donations go to cancer research.
