Meet Kimberly Carney
From Seattle, WA, Kimberly is the CEO and co-founder of Fashwire, an app that serves as a discovery platform and marketplace directly connecting designers, trendsetters, and the fashion-conscious consumers worldwide, no matter their demographics or location.
Initially connecting with and selling Good Man Brand, Russell's clothing brand that focuses on doing good, Kimberly was later introduced to the Why Not You Foundation. She saw how impactful the foundation's mission is on our next generation's future. From then on, Kimberly and Fashwire have been incredible supporters of the Why Not You Foundation, historically raising well over $20K.
"It's vital to foster and support the next generation of our youth and give back to Why Not You Foundation's mission. It is really an honor to be part of the future and help philanthropically with such an incredible cause" - Kimberly.
At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Kimberly and the Fashwire team knew they wanted to step up and do what they could to help the community. "We felt deeply that we needed to help in any way possible to combat this global pandemic. Witnessing how our 300+ fashion designers from 35+ countries were so significantly impacted by the pandemic was one of the key driving forces behind Fashwire's initiative to launch FashGive, and our vast global reach within the fashion, tech, and retail community is an opportunity to leverage that power for the greater good", stated Kimberly. Through FashGive, $1 for every download of the Fashwire mobile app is donated to philanthropic causes. Fashwire's mobile apps are available on the App and Google Play stores.
When asked what 'Why Not You' means to her, Kimberly responded, "You can do anything you set your mind to; it takes action and perseverance. Believe in yourself, and you will find the courage to take action on your goals".
